My Favorite Great Artist
Maggie McClellan
One of the great privileges in my life has been to have Maggie McClellan as a friend. I met her when I was in high school and she's been important to me ever since.

Thirty years ago, she discovered that she had a gift, a creative visual ability to draw and capture on paper the essence of a moment. Today, she is a gifted artist and art teacher.  Her work is fresh and bright, inspired and perceptive. She is a person of high standards and impeccable character who I am pleased to call my friend.

Her work includes not only water colors (She was three times president of the Miami Water Color Society.), but also oils and other media. I know nothing about the technical side of that, but her paintings are wonderful to behold.

Beyond her paintings, she is a fantastic teacher. She conducts classes and workshops for aspiring artists around the country, from the Florida Keys to New England and the midwest.  Some of her students travel across the country to attend her workshops.

I have sat in on some of her classes and workshops and seen her in action. Her students, whether they are beginners or experienced artists looking to hone their skills, are energized and inspired by her teaching style.

UPCOMING WORKSHOPS:

Stay tuned for more information, or visit Maggie's website at www.maggiemcclellan.com

Maggie's recent work has included some paintings she did for her own enjoyment, some commissions for private homes, and some portraits. All of them incorporate her special touch.

Beside her teaching and painting, Maggie is the author of several books for artists, the first of which, "Artist's Express, the secret of the obedient brush," started a personal creative revolution for many would-be artists. In that book, Maggie teaches how important it is to just "do it" and get started. Pick up the brush and PAINT.

I will be including a few photos of her work, just as examples, as soon as I can get the files from her to put on this web site. Until I get them, you can see some of them yourself on Maggie's web site - www.maggiemcclellan.com.

If you would like to have your painting talent honed by an expert, or buy a unique painting for your living room, a painting of a favorite pet, or child, or a portrait of yourself, your spouse or another family member, consider a commission with Maggie McClellan for that work. You won't be sorry.
